The staff of High Fidelity magazine in front of Publishing House, Gt. Barrington, Mass., 196l. C.L.O. is sixth from R., top row; I was the magazine’s Managing Editor at the time. Fourth from L., top row, in bow tie, is Music Editor Roland Gelatt, and tall man at C., back, is Warren Syer, the Publisher of HF, and later of the original Opus. In front of him, in suit, is Executive Editor Joan Griffiths, the best copy editor I ever worked with, and 2nd from L., holding cat, is Emily Smith, the most fastidious proofreader. Originally an independent magazine, HF had recently been acquired by Billboard Publications.
