High Fidelity Records in Review

Three volumes from the annual Records in Review series. L., the first, edited by Roland Gelatt, HF’s Music Editor for many years and author of The Fabulous Phonograph, still the standard history of the recording industry, at least from a classical perspective. R., the last, edited by Edith Carter. And C., a volume from my most active period, edited by Frances Newbury. The series runs from early in the LP era (pre-stereo) to the edge of the digital age, and affords a critical history of classical recording during that time.
